Forrest Griffin faces Tito Ortiz at UFC 106
« on: October 09, 2009, 05:17:10 AM »
Forrest Griffin has agreed to step in as Mark Coleman’s replacement and fight Tito Ortiz at UFC 106 on November 21. Coleman was forced to bow out of the bout after sustaining an injury in training.  The fight will be a rematch of their UFC 59 bout which saw the Huntington Beach Bad Boy defeated the Ultimate Fighter season one winner by split decision.

It will be Tito Ortiz’ return to the cage after a two year absence.  Ortiz has been winless in his last three UFC fights: a loss to Machida, a draw with Rashad Evans, and a loss against Chuck Liddell.  Griffin is looking for a return to the win column as well as he has dropped fights to Rashad Evans and Anderson Silva in his last two fights.

UFC 106 will be headlined by a battle for the UFC heavyweight championship as challenger Shane Carwin looks to take the title from Brock Lesnar. The card will come to you from Las Vegas, Nevada on November 21st.
