Masutatsu Ōyama, Japanese:大山倍達 Ōyama Masutatsu (27/Jul/1923-26/Jul/1923), he was also known as Mas Oyama.

Masutatsu Ōyama was the founder of the Kyokushinkai, gand master of karate, arguably the first and most influential style of full contact karate.

He was korean origin and preferred to be called Choi Bae-dal (Korean: 최배달, Hanja: 崔倍達) to indicate his Korean ethnicity. A Zainichi Korean, he spent most of his life living in Japan and eventually became a Japanese citizen.
